Sundays at 9:30AM at 150 Lake Ave, Metuchen

Wondering how you can get involved? Looking to find your place? Want to make a difference? A ministry team is a great place to start. You get to know people, serve Jesus through your gifts and make a difference in the lives of others along the way.

Our calling is simple; to love God, love people and make disciples. We long to be a community where people can feel like they belong before they believe as they learn of God’s love for them. Our ministry teams are one of the key ways we do this. Without them, nothing gets done so we take them seriously. Each team owns a key part of our church with a leader who drives the vision and coordination for the team. Each team meets regularly to pray, build community and grow together.
Anthem Sunday 08 08 2021-3

Through our ministry teams, we want to empower you to grow in your relationship with God and equip you to impact the lives of others. We commit to pray for you, be trustworthy with the resources extended to us, and laugh often along the way. Join us on the journey!

Next Steps: Join Our Team

Check out the descriptions of our different ministry teams and the positions on each team. Fill out the form below to get started. We'll follow up and introduce you to your ministry team leader.

Hospitality Team

For many visitors, the Hospitality Ministry team is the first ministry they will experience so as a member of the Hospitality team, you are the front line. The Bible calls His people to extend radical hospitality to all. Therefore the mission of the Hospitality team is to love and welcome the ‘stranger’ to help them become ‘part of the family’. If you love to make visitors and members feel welcomed and connected, you can help them take the next steps in their faith if you join this team.

Anthem Kids

The goal of our children and student ministries is to come alongside parents in their biblical teaching and encouragement of their children. We desire to see the youth of Anthem Church rise and take their places in our world as bearers of the Good News of Jesus Christ. It is important to enjoy spending time with youth; however that is not enough when becoming a volunteer. Volunteers must meet specific criteria before being trusted to care for and guide our youth. Visit our Anthem Kids Volunteer page to find out more.

Sunday Operations

Our Sunday services are central to the life of our community and we are deeply grateful for people like yourself who make it happen. Our goal for Sunday service is to inspire people to follow and trust Jesus in their lives, so that they may experience the fullness of life that is available in Him and in His promises. We do this by creating a space where people can encounter God and take the next step in their faith with minimal distractions. The responsibilities of this team include directing Sunday services, setting up before service, tearing down after service, announcements and intercessory prayer during service.

Audio Visual Ministry

Our Sunday services are central to the discipleship process of our larger community, and we strive to present the Gospel in a manner that is both biblical and beautiful through the use of music, design and technology.  We create spaces where people can focus on and engage with God’s Word and presence with minimal distractions. The Audio Visual team is crucial to creating that experience. The responsibilities include audio, cameras, slides, lighting, broadcasting, both assisting and directing. We know that most people don't have these skill sets so we will train you! You don't need to be intimidated.

Small Groups Ministry

Welcome to the small group ministry of Anthem Church. Rather than being a church with small groups, we want to be a church of small groups and believe that the greatest spiritual growth happens within the context of authentic, Bible-centered community and fellowship. We hope to see you connect with others in one of our small groups, whether through Alpha (for new believers) or LIFE groups (for growing disciples). We look forward to growing together!

Ministry Team FAQ
    • Do I need to have ministry/church experience? No experience required, just a desire to learn and serve. We will provide training to prepare you for your specific role.
    • Do I need to live in Middlesex County?  No.  Covid taught us that ministry can happen both in person and digitally.  As long as you have a heart to serve the kingdom, join us!
    • How much time do I need to commit? Initially, you will need to serve every week with an experienced team member in order to learn the ropes and get to know everyone. Once you are comfortable with the responsibilities, you'll be added to the regular rotation. Frequency of that rotation depends upon the current needs of the team. In addition, each ministry team holds a monthly or bi-monthly meeting for one to two hours outside of Sunday mornings.
    • What is expected of me? Show up and be on time, communicate and bring your best self! We'll help you with the rest.
